About the Role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global Practice Lead for Agriculture and Food Systems to join our Crisis Response, Recovery and Development (CRRD) department. This is a key leadership role that will provide strategic direction and technical oversight for IRC's agriculture and food systems programming.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality, impact, and scale of IRC's agriculture and food systems programming.
  2. Provide technical oversight and guidance to Regional Leads, Technical Advisors, and Technical Coordinators on best practices in agriculture and food systems programming.
  3. Collaborate with other Global Practice Leads to promote integrated program designs and address programmatic risks.
  4. Lead technical unit-led business development and strategy for agriculture and food systems programming, including identifying business development opportunities and managing proposals.
  5. Establish and maintain strategic relationships with donors, stakeholders, and partners in the agriculture and food systems space.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in designing, leading, and implementing programs in climate resilient agriculture and food systems.
  • Strong track record of driving uptake of evidence-based practice and sectoral strategy design and planning.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and storytelling skills, with ability to work across diverse stakeholders and teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and convert business development opportunities, shape the vision and agenda within the domain area, and influence across a wide range of stakeholders.
