About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Highways Maintenance Operative to join our team in Hook. As a key member of our Depot Operations team, you will be responsible for undertaking a variety of duties including pothole repairs, excavation works, and vegetation management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all Highways Maintenance activity is carried out safely and in accordance with Company benchmark standards.
  • Operate all plant, tools, and equipment necessary to complete work, ensuring a high standard of equipment care.
  • Install traffic management under instruction in accordance with method statements.
  • Participate in Winter and Emergency Service duties as required.
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained, including drivers' hours, timesheets, and job feedback notes.
  • Support weather-related or emergency events, such as flooding prevention and clearing debris from the highway.
Requirements:
  • HGV Class C driving licence is highly desirable or ability to demonstrate capability to support investment of HGV Class C training during probationary period.
  • Experience working in a similar role or environment undertaking a high level of manual and outdoor work in all weathers.
  • Highway maintenance experience preferred.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • CSCS card (training can be provided).
