Warehouse Operative Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Operative to join our team at Gregory Distribution. As a Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for manually loading and unloading caged and palletised goods from lorries, using the warehouse system & scanner to receive, locate goods into the racking, pick & dispatch whilst handling all caged goods with care and attention, working in a temperature chilled environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manually loading and unloading caged and palletised goods from lorries.
  • Using the warehouse system & scanner to receive, locate goods into the racking, pick & dispatch whilst handling all caged goods with care and attention, working in a temperature chilled environment.
  • Replenishing and consolidation of stock when required and assembling cages for orders to be safely stacked in racking.
  • Assisting when required within the warehouse to include wrapping and labelling of pallets.
  • General housekeeping and upkeep of the warehousing area and equipment.
  • Completing any relevant paperwork in line with the warehouse processes to include reporting any defects.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of working within a warehouse environment.
  • Experience with computerised warehouse management systems, Manhattan scale is advantageous.
  • Good communication and team working skills.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.

  • Starting salary for Warehouse Operative is £26,769pa, based on working 48 hours per week.
  • Hours of work are 07:30hrs to 17:00hrs
