Job Title: Clinical Pharmacist - Band 7

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust.

The successful candidate will have a strong clinical knowledge and be able to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Pharmacist to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical pharmacy services to patients across various departments, including acute medicine, emergency department, and inpatient medicine wards.

They will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide support and guidance on medication management and other clinical issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services to patients across various departments
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide support and guidance on medication management and other clinical issues
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical pharmacy services
  • Participate in audit and evaluation activities to improve patient care
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals and patients
Requirements:
  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy
  • GPhC registration
  • Sound knowledge of a surgical or medical speciality acquired working within a suitable specialty
  • Meets Foundation framework/ GLF competencies
  • Audit and evaluative work
  • Sound understanding of healthcare priorities and political agendas
  • Experience of teaching and tutoring
  • Postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience
  • MRPharmS or equivalent
  • Training in medicines information
  • Preparation of prescribing guidelines
Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work 1 in 5 late nights until 7pm and 1 in 6 weekends (working either Saturday or Sunday).

All staff are required to contribute to extended hours, weekends, and bank holidays as part of core hours.

We offer a competitive salary of £46,148 to £52,809 per annum (pro rata) and a range of benefits, including a pension scheme and annual leave.
