Role Overview

Northern Gas and Power, an international energy procurement specialist, seeks a skilled Energy Trader to join its team. This role involves implementing clients' electricity and gas trading strategies while developing market-leading trading functionalities.

About the Role

This position requires managing companies' commodity trading positions, delivering traded energy that meets clients' risk and budget requirements. The successful candidate will develop client trading strategies, liaise directly with clients, and execute trading strategies on a day-to-day basis.

The ideal candidate will also be responsible for developing tools and models to assist in decision-making processes when hedging clients' energy expenditure. They will support the production of daily, weekly, and monthly market intelligence reporting for both internal and external use.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage companies' commodity trading positions, ensuring compliance with agreed trading parameters and risk management strategies.
  • Develop client trading strategies to meet individual client requirements and execute them on a day-to-day basis.
  • Develop and implement risk vs reward views based on technical and fundamental analysis for clients.
  • Responsible for profit and loss on any unlocks/relock trades undertaken on client accounts.
  • Making trading or hedging recommendations to clients utilizing fundamental/technical analysis.
  • Formulate and implement comprehensive risk strategies for Client-Market exposure and budget risk covering electricity and gas purchasing.
  • Manage a portfolio of power and gas trades for Industrial & Commercial users of energy.

Salary and Benefits
