Farming Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to support farmers and landowners in our protected landscapes.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the issues facing rural communities and businesses, particularly in the upland farming sector.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Verifying claims and monitoring projects
  • Providing administrative support for the DEFRA Farming in Protected Landscapes Funding Programme
  • Working closely with farmers and landowners to access funding streams
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with local stakeholders

Requirements

  • Demonstrable understanding of rural issues and upland farming sector
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills
  • Confidence in using IT systems, including Microsoft Office 365 and GIS applications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
