Our client, a leading manufacturer based in Perth, is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Manager to lead their HSE strategy and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive HSE strategy, ensuring a 'Safety First' culture across the organization.
  2. Establish and monitor a clear HSE training program, providing adequate training to the team and monitoring progress to reduce the corporate carbon footprint.
  3. Ensure impeccable HSE standards are maintained throughout operations and the wider business.
  4. Demonstrate and promote a 'Safety First' culture and strategy throughout the business.
  5. Continuously ensure a solutions-driven approach to HSE matters.
  6. Work with key stakeholders to ensure full understanding of HSE requirements and continuous improvement in HSE standards across operations.
  7. Monitor H&S compliance throughout the business, with a particular focus on manufacturing, production, and warehouse facilities.
  8. Ensure a safe working environment without risk to health.
  9. Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety, and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
  10. Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations.
  11. Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, risk assessments and lone working procedures are managed, and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
  12. Take ownership of H&S policies, systems of work, and procedures. Ensure full and accurate H&S records and training records are maintained.
  13. Establish and coordinate a full program of documented H&S inspections, audits, and checks.
  14. Establish a structured program of H&S training throughout the Company, liaising with third-party providers as required in the development and/or delivery of such courses and H&S services generally.
  15. Manage and devise the agenda for, chair, formulate, and distribute minutes for the Health & Safety Committee meetings. Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety, and welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business.
  16. Provide regular reports to the Head of Quality & Compliance, Head of People & Development, Board of Directors/Leadership Team on relevant H&S activities.
  17. Provide guidance on safety equipment and the safe installation of new machinery.
  18. Assess and identify training needs across the business in areas pertaining to HSE matters.
  19. Review and manage Occupational Health reports pertaining to H&S considerations.
