Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our Biochemistry Team at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering technical excellence and attention to detail in a busy laboratory environment.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be trained and competency assessed to join our 24/7 shift system, carrying out night, late, early, weekend, and bank holiday shifts. Experience and/or ability to work autonomously for long periods of time at varying start and finish times is essential.

Key elements of the role involve undertaking day-to-day sample processing and authorisation of clinical results to maintain agreed KPIs. You will also be involved in service development, including quality management activities and various projects. An aptitude with Microsoft Office programs is preferable, and experience of using Q-Pulse, CliniSys would be an advantage.
