Job Opportunity: Associate Lecturer A

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Associate Lecturer A to join our team at Birkbeck University of London. As a key member of our psychology teaching team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and assessment for our Certificate of Higher Education and Accelerated Foundation Year programmes.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our collaborative and supportive teaching team and contribute to the delivery of our Understanding Applied Cognitive Psychology module. You will be responsible for preparing, teaching, and assessing students on this Level 4 module, which provides an introduction to cognitive psychology and the major elements of cognition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and assessment for the Understanding Applied Cognitive Psychology module
  • Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, and other teaching materials
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Contribute to the development of teaching and learning materials
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Psychology or a related field
  • Relevant teaching experience, preferably in the Higher Education sector
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
  • Experience of using a range of teaching and assessment methods
  • Working knowledge of IT, including Microsoft Office and Moodle

Desirable

  • PhD in Psychology or a related field
  • Teaching qualification
