Senior Mental Health Nurse Leader

Job Title: Charge Nurse
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Charge Nurse to join our team at a leading mental health hospital in the Nottinghamshire area. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for leading the nursing team on the ward and managing shifts, providing high-quality care and leading by example to junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the nursing team on the ward and manage shifts
- Deputise for the Ward Manager and assist with the day-to-day management of the ward and team
- Provide high-quality care and lead by example to junior staff
- Develop therapeutic relationships to optimise patient engagement
- Follow all codes of conduct, standards, and legislation, respecting the rights of others and promoting ethical practice
- Contribute to patient assessments, compile a plan of care alongside the individual, and monitor patient progress
- Mentor, support, and supervise student nurses and other members of the team
- Promote professional development within the team
- Carry out sit coordination duties when required
Requirements:
- Qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse with a current active NMC Pin
- Ability to assess and teach junior staff
- Proven ability to co-ordinate care, prioritise tasks, and manage Health & Safety issues
- Drive to learn and develop
- Commitment to patient-centred care and to values-based and evidence-based practice
- Able to show a can-do attitude always
