We are seeking a highly skilled Ecologist to join our dynamic Nature team as a Principal/Associate Ecologist in our growing Newcastle, Basingstoke, Croydon, Cambridge, Nottingham, Manchester, Birmingham, and Bristol offices.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support the preparation of high-quality bids and tenders for ecological services, focusing on the energy, defence, and water sectors.
- Oversee and manage all phases of ecological project work, ensuring necessary resources, budgets, and controls are in place to meet programme and budget requirements.
- Deliver high-quality ecological consultancy and advisory services to internal and external clients, including through our check and review processes.
- Produce ecology chapters for environmental statements and protected species licence applications.
- Author or technically check project deliverables to ensure high-quality outputs.
- Experience in leading and managing ecological surveys, licensing, and impact assessments, as demonstrated by suitable professional experience.
- Proven track record in work-winning, managing projects, project budgets, and leading stakeholder discussions.
- Strong understanding of relevant wildlife conservation or at least one major habitat type or species.
- Membership of an appropriate professional institution and evidence of working towards Chartership (such as CIEEM or related), as well as excellent field skills in at least one specialist area including any protected species licences.
- A full driving licence and willingness to visit other locations on company business.
