Job Title: Infant Feeding Advisor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Infant Feeding Advisor to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. As an Infant Feeding Advisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting women wishing to breastfeed their babies from the antenatal period and after birth.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with our Infant Feeding Co-ordinator to provide sensitive, non-judgmental breastfeeding support to pregnant and breastfeeding women and their families. You will work in partnership with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care and support to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide breastfeeding support and guidance to pregnant and breastfeeding women and their families.
  • Work in partnership with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care and support to our patients.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local healthcare providers and community groups to promote breastfeeding and infant feeding support.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of breastfeeding and infant feeding policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in infant feeding and breastfeeding support.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A qualification in Childcare, NVQ 3, NNEB, BTEC, or equivalent experience working with parents, children, and families within Health/Social Care setting.
  • Leadership experience within infant feeding.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Knowledge of the UNICEF baby friendly standards and awareness of the importance of delivery within a service.
