Job Summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to support women wishing to breastfeed their babies from the antenatal period and after birth. The successful candidate will work alongside our Infant Feeding Co-ordinator to provide sensitive, non-judgmental breastfeeding support to pregnant and breastfeeding women and their families.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide breastfeeding support to pregnant and breastfeeding women and their families in individual and group settings.
  • Work in partnership with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality infant feeding services.
  • Support mothers with breastfeeding, including carrying out breastfeeding assessments and providing guidance on positioning and attachment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local communities and healthcare providers to promote breastfeeding and improve infant feeding outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of infant feeding policies and procedures.

Requirements
  • Hold a qualification in Childcare, NVQ 3, NNEB, BTEC, or equivalent experience working with parents, children, and families within Health/Social Care setting.
  • Leadership experience within infant feeding.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Knowledge of the UNICEF baby friendly standards and awareness of the importance of delivery within a service.
