We are seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join our team at Densell Recruitment. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of building pathology and structural issues, with a focus on subsidence-related damage and probable cause.
Key Responsibilities- Assess the extent and seriousness of movement and damage to property, establishing probable or proximate causes and determining necessary investigations, monitoring, and remedial works.
- Validate or repudiate claims, completing a full report.
- Instruct relevant specialists to carry out recommendations.
- Liaise with homeowners, insurance companies, and senior management to validate claims and develop project plans for property repairs through to completion.
- Extensive experience working within the building/construction industry.
- Excellent knowledge of building pathology/structural issues.
- Experience dealing with subsidence issues working for a loss adjuster, insurance company, or specialist contractor.
- Ideal candidate will have knowledge of the home insurance claims process, perils, and cover surrounding subsidence and related issues.
- Working knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory matters, including Asbestos Handling, CDM, DPA, H&S on site, Party Wall Act, and Planning and Building Regulations requirements.
- Building/technical related qualification, such as an HNC/HND or Building Surveying/Engineering Degree, and/or Cert CII, would be advantageous.
A competitive salary negotiable around £45-55k depending on experience, a car or car allowance (£5k), and a good benefits package.
