About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Teaching Assistant to join our Adult Learning team at Cumberland Council. As a Senior Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting learners with specific needs, assisting tutors in preparing and delivering lessons, and working with adults from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist tutors in preparing and delivering lessons for learners in a group setting to suit the needs of the learners.
  • Work with adults from diverse backgrounds and be sensitive to the unique needs and challenges faced by learners.
  • Support learners with a range of learning styles and needs, using a variety of strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Adult Learning team to develop and implement effective learning programs.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Experience of providing support within a classroom environment, preferably in an adult learning setting.
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet demand, including evenings and weekends.
  • Positive, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to supporting learners with a range of needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
