We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Newark Hatchery. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all incubators and ancillary equipment.

Your primary focus will be on breakdown and preventative maintenance, working closely with the Maintenance Manager and the wider engineering team to ensure production targets are met.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and maintaining all incubation and ancillary equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Investigating and resolving faults as soon as noticed, with a focus on causing minimal damage or deterioration to eggs, embryos, or livestock.
  • Collaborating with the Maintenance Manager to ensure timely ordering of stock and spares, minimizing downtime during repairs and servicing.
  • Ensuring all equipment operates in a safe manner, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines.
  • Regularly checking and maintaining alarm systems to ensure they are fully operational at all times.
  • Reporting and liaising with the management team to address concerns about anticipated future problems.
  • Maintaining accurate records of equipment servicing, legislative work, and breakdowns.
  • Ensuring the workshop area and store are kept tidy and clean.

Shifts - 4 on 4 off, days/nights - 0600-1800 / 1800-0600
