About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Crop Development Specialist to join our team at MorePeople. As the Assistant Grower, you will play a key role in the growth and development of our crops, working closely with our Growing Manager to optimize production yields and quality levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Growing Manager in the planning and execution of crop production, ensuring that all crops are grown to the highest standards.
- Monitor and control pest and disease management, irrigation, and health and safety standards to ensure the quality and safety of our produce.
- Work closely with the Operations team to ensure that top-quality produce is delivered to both internal and external customers.
- Participate in regular team meetings to share best practices and tackle any challenges together, driving a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Experience in a commercial horticultural setting, with knowledge of crop standards, pest and disease management, and a passion for delivering great results.
- Knowledge of protected cropping would be an advantage, but we are more interested in your drive to learn and grow.
- Supervisor training or experience running a team would be beneficial.
