About The Role

Casual Service Support Worker - Regulated Service

Location: Community Work, based at British Red Cross, Dundee Technology Park, Dundee, with travel around Dundee

Hours: Various, as and when required

Contract type: Casual

Salary: £ per hour

Driving Requirement: A full driving license and access to a vehicle is preferred but not mandatory

Please note, this is a Regulated Service and you will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within months of starting the role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide practical and emotional assistance to individuals in their own homes, assessing their needs
  • Work closely with people, their families and other professionals to create care plans tailored to their needs and goals
  • Assist and enable individuals with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, meal preparation, medication management, and mobility support
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and other team members to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to care
  • Monitor and evaluate individuals progress, adjusting care plans as needed to promote optimal recovery and well-being
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of interactions, care plans, and progress
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar care, preferably within a healthcare or social care setting
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature, with a strong desire to make a positive impact on individuals' lives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of person-centred care principles and a commitment to upholding dignity and autonomy
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and reliability
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
  • A full driving license and access to a vehicle is preferred but not mandatory
