About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Sustainability Expert to join our dynamic Environment and Sustainability team at Irwin & Colton Limited. This is a key position that will play a vital role in establishing environmental compliance and regulations in one of the UK's largest mines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit and Compliance: Conduct internal audits, report key findings, and drive remedial actions to achieve ISO 14001 standards.
- Environmental Management: Support the development and implementation of the environmental management system and environmental standards.
- Regulatory Reporting: Liaise effectively with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders on environmental matters.
- Training: Identify opportunities to drive improvements and deliver training where required.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will have proven experience in a similar position ideally within mining, construction, extractives, or related heavy industrial experience. You should be qualified in an appropriate environmental discipline and ideally hold membership of IEMA. A strong technical knowledge across relevant Environmental legislation, compliance, and regulations, including ISO 14001, is essential.
You will possess excellent communications skills and a drive to make a real impact on our company and its environmental journey. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the direction and outcome of our ESG strategy.
