Field Engineer - CONTRACT - INSIDE IR35

Maclean Moore is seeking a skilled and proactive Field Engineer to join their team. The role will primarily focus on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications equipment in live network environments. Key responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform installation, maintenance, and configuration of Huawei, Juniper, Ciena, or Nokia telecommunications equipment.
  • Execute plug-in/plug-out tasks, ensuring proper integration into live networks.
  • Work on-site at various client locations to ensure network components are deployed accurately and according to technical specifications.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment or network-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the NOC (Network Operations Center) and other technical teams to ensure seamless communication during live network work.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, equipment installations, and service incidents.
  • Keep up to date with the latest hardware and software updates for telecommunications products.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of live network environments and how to operate within them.
  • Ability to perform hands-on tasks such as plug-in, plug-out of network devices.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications networks and infrastructure, particularly in the field of transmission and switching.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot network issues quickly.
  • Flexibility to travel to various on-site locations as required.
  • Previous experience in large-scale network rollouts or telecommunications projects.
  • Relevant field experience working with telecommunications equipment, preferably in a live network environment.
