Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Engineer to join our team at Turner Lovell. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-power converters for industrial, marine, and renewable energy applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop power electronics converters to meet specific requirements.
  • Handle all circuit design aspects, including snubber, gating electronics, and thermal design.
  • Develop analysis and modelling tools for megawatt power electronic converter systems.
  • Test, evaluate, and optimize low and medium voltage power electronic systems.
  • Support project execution, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery.
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Masters/PhD preferred).
  • Expertise in power electronics converter design and electrical machines control methods.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor devices, gating electronics, snubber circuits, and thermal design.
  • Proficiency with design tools such as EPLAN, Mathcad, MATLAB, Simulink, PLECS, etc.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance in the UK.
