We are a dynamic and ambitious team at Richmond and Wandsworth Councils, seeking a talented Senior Engineer to join our Traffic and Engineering section. About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to take on additional technical and management responsibilities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of highway public realm improvements, active travel and safer routes to school schemes, and traffic calming and casualty reduction schemes to support Wandsworth's transport initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and delivery of highway projects, including public realm improvements and traffic calming schemes
  • Support Principal Engineers on relevant service and operational matters
  • Ensure design standards and best practices are followed, and compliance with all health and safety requirements
  • Effective project implementation, including plan, budget, organize, direct, and control of tasks, people, and resources
  • Excellent budgetary and financial management skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including attending public meetings and engaging with residents and businesses
Requirements
  • Sound theoretical and practical highway/traffic engineering application, demonstrated via a professional qualification or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of highways, street works, and relevant legislations
  • Proven experience in delivering highway projects
  • Commercially astute and good IT skills, including the use of AutoCAD and Microsoft packages
