About the Role
The Ministry of Defence is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Medicine Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our Recruitment and Attraction department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the fitness of candidates for military service.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on medical matters related to Service entry, including fitness for duty and confidentiality guidelines.
- Develop and implement effective medical assessments for pre-entry candidates and those transferring or re-entering service.
- Work closely with contracted medical examiners to determine fitness for military service.
- Support the development of medical policy and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Practice Medical Officers of New Entry Training Establishments.
Requirements
- Registered medical practitioner on the GMC Specialist Register in Occupational Medicine, with a license to practice and up-to-date for annual appraisal and revalidation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to form working relationships with military and non-military partners.
- Proven track record of working collaboratively within teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to continuing professional development.
