About the Role:

CV Library is seeking a highly skilled Datacentre Engineer Lead to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of high availability IT Network, Datacentres, Server, and Storage environments.

Your role will involve using standard monitoring tools to problem solve and improve system performance and reliability of the IT Infrastructure, ensuring business continuity, data integrity, data security, and operational visibility for business flexibility and responsive decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Daily health checks of the datacentre, performing scheduled maintenance for all virtual platforms.
  2. Monitoring and maintaining the datacentre's health, ensuring high availability of datacentre infrastructure.
  3. Installing, configuring, implementing, and maintaining the physical server environment.
  4. Installing, configuring, implementing, and maintaining the storage environment.
  5. Maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly server and data backups to disk and tape storage.
  6. Cloud-based backup and restore management and configuration, along with virtual server environment management and configuration.
  7. Maintaining existing VMware environment and maintaining VMware templates.

Compensation Package:

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £65,000 per annum, based on market rates in Plymouth, Devon. The compensation package also includes pension, vehicle schemes, staff discounts, training, and other benefits.
