**Care Assistant Role**

At Alexander House Care Home, we offer exceptional standards of care for 67 residents in a newly built care home based in Pinhoe, Exeter. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for promoting the values and ethos of our home.

  • Empower Independence: Assist residents with daily routines, encourage independence, and help them make positive choices.
  • Personalized Care: Follow and support each resident's care plan, providing hands-on help and thoughtful attention to their individual needs.
  • Health and Wellbeing: Monitor residents' health, communicate concerns to the Nurse or Clinical Deputy Manager, and assist with calls to relatives or healthcare professionals.
  • Champion Dignity: Uphold the dignity and respect of each resident, ensuring they feel valued and cared for in every interaction.
  • Social Support: Encourage social interactions among residents and with staff, creating a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Safety and Comfort: Work with housekeepers to maintain clean, safe, and comfortable living spaces, and respond quickly to emergencies or call bells.
  • Nutritional Support: Assist residents who need extra help with eating and drinking, ensuring their nutritional needs are met.
  • Spread Smiles: Bring joy to our residents' lives and make them smile every day.

About You:

  • Qualifications: SVQ/NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is preferred.
  • Experience: Ideally, you have at least 6 months of experience as a Care Assistant, but we welcome those with a passion for care and transferable skills.
  • Passion: You're genuinely interested in caring for the elderly and committed to delivering excellent service.
  • Values: You bring integrity, respect, and a strong sense of teamwork to everything you do.

We are part of the Care Concern Group, a family-owned care group operating close to 80 homes across the UK. We offer a supportive and fun environment for our team to work in.

We offer a competitive salary of £11.50 per hour, contracted to 33 or 44 hours per week, with benefits including pension, onsite parking, paid DBS, and uniform provided.
