Job Overview

As a Staff Nurse in the Eye Care Centre, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to patients with a wide range of ophthalmic conditions. Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients' vision using various techniques to identify and address visual impairments.
• Assist in theatre clean room environments to ensure aseptic techniques are maintained.
• Conduct diagnostic tests for patients to inform treatment plans.
• Participate in telephone and face-to-face preoperative assessments for cataract surgery.
• Take on leadership, education, and supervision of the team to promote best practices and support professional development.
• Coordinate ophthalmic clinics on a daily basis to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient use of resources.
• Contribute to the ophthalmic health of all patients by providing expert care and guidance.
• Experience working in numerous ophthalmic specialist clinics to develop a broad range of clinical skills.



Person Specification

Essential
• Registered General Nurse (RGN) or equivalent qualification.
• Detailed knowledge of professional accountability and NHS issues.
• Understanding of the importance of equality, diversity, and rights in patient care.
• Evidence of continued learning and professional development.



Desirable
• Advanced knowledge in a specialist field.
• Evidence of practice and experience in ophthalmology.
• Additional qualifications in specific areas, such as research or audit.
