Join Our Team as a Youth Development Specialist

Milton Hershey School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate couple to become flex houseparents. As a flex houseparent, you will reside in an on-campus student home and provide a consistent family-like structure for a group of approximately 8-12 students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guiding and nurturing students in a family-like environment
  • Providing daily care and support to students, including driving, administering medication, and handling household responsibilities
  • Developing and implementing activities to promote student growth and development
  • Collaborating with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment for students

Benefits:

  • A competitive salary of $42,903 per person, with a total compensation package of approximately $150,000 per couple
  • Comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as retirement savings and paid training
  • Relocation assistance and a schedule of nine days on followed by three days off
  • Three-week paid summer vacation

Requirements:

  • Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings
  • Must be a married couple with at least two years of marriage
  • Both spouses must be at least 27 years old
  • No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and valid driver's license
  • Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity and be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking them to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services
