Join Our Team as a Youth Development Specialist

Milton Hershey School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate couple to become flex houseparents. As a flex houseparent, you will reside in an on-campus student home and provide a consistent family-like structure for a group of approximately 8-12 students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guiding and nurturing students in a family-like environment
  • Providing daily care and support to students
  • Assisting with daily routines, including meals, homework, and activities
  • Encouraging students to develop life skills and independence
  • Collaborating with other staff members to ensure student well-being

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary of $42,903 per person (total compensation package of approx. $150,000 per couple)
  • Comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Relocation assistance and paid training provided
  • Schedule of nine days on followed by three days off
  • Three-week paid summer vacation

Requirements:

  • Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings
  • Couples must be legally married for at least two years
  • Both spouses must be age 27 or older
  • No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
  • Abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
  • Valid driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
  • Couples must be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and attending Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
