About the Role

The Resource Geology Coordinator will play a crucial role in providing guidance and technical expertise in developing and implementing best geology and resource practices across all mining operations of ArcelorMittal. This includes ensuring that mine geology, resource definition, and QAQC practices follow the correct standards.

Main Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety Leadership: Encourage, foster, and lead by example on Health and Safety as Group number 1 priority.
  • Geology and Resource Development: Contribute to the development and deployment of OBK&M exploration and resource definition, mineral resource estimation, and mine geology control standards across the group.
  • Compliance and Technical Assurance: Undertake compliance and technical assurance reviews at each site, ensuring that gap analysis and maturity assessments are undertaken, and action plans developed and followed through for each site.
  • Resource Planning and Exploration: Support the line manager in ensuring that the right volumes and quality of mineralisation is being planned and explored across the Group.
  • Geological Support: Assist and guide the business units in mine geology procedures, exploration practice, geological mapping procedures, and the interpretation of geological, geochemical, and geophysical data.
  • Resource Governance: Assist in the governance of exploration, resource development, mineral resource estimation.
  • Strategy and Growth: Support to building of effective strategies to achieve growth in value of the mining assets and give guidance to the business units' exploration and mine geology teams.
  • Budgeting and Procurement: Assist with budgets, selection of companies, labs, and consultants, to create significant value to AM.
  • Standards and Protocols: Align minimum and best practice standards across the mining group to ensure a consistency and alignment of geology systems, processes and activities.
  • GIS and Data Management: Ensure mineral rights information is managed effectively by each business unit. Support/Guide the creation of a GIS database at each site and at a group level for mineral exploration.
  • 3D Modeling and Interpretation: Manage, interpret, and review 3D geological and resource models.
  • Geo-Metallurgical Models: Provide guidance on the implementation of geo-metallurgical models at the business units.
  • Capital Expenditure: Assists with capital expenditure submissions as required.
  • Training and Support: Support geoscientists across the mining business during mineral resource modelling including support in mining and geology software solutions, including external and in-house trainings.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions: Support Mergers and Acquisitions in finding the right strategic projects and resources to drive the business forward.
  • Culture and Relationships: Promote a high-performance culture and build open, genuine, and sustainable relationships with all stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in field of Geology or Geoscience as a minimum, a Masters in Geoscience preferable.
  • Key Experiences: Mining and operational geology, resource evaluation, and geological mapping experience. Technical involvement and experience in resource modelling estimation, and reporting with experience in QAQC & data validation protocols. Working in a multicultural and dynamic work environment. Role requires at least a degree in Geology or Geoscience. Experience in open pit and/or underground mine geology and grade control, block model reconciliation with a good knowledge of mine to plant processes and systems. Experience in interpreting geological and geophysical information. Experience in ore body knowledge and material type characterisation programs. Experience in using the latest mining systems (examples: Leapfrog, Vulcan, Surpac, Datamine, and Hexagon MineSight).

Adaptability and highly developed soft skills (communication, decision making, flexibility, time management, professionalism, courtesy, teamwork and other). Openness to diversity within a dynamic working environment.
