Main Responsibilities

As a Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to young people in our residential homes. Your duties will include:

  • Supporting daily routines, including getting the young people up, promoting personal hygiene, meals, and activities
  • Supporting room cleans, developing life skills, and promoting socialization
  • Attending medical and other appointments
  • Supporting activity planners and working with the young people on their targets
  • Completing daily paperwork, including day sheets and handover documents
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Flexibility in your availability, including sleep-in nights and shift work
  • An understanding of the issues that face young people in care
  • A Residential Childcare or Families Practitioner Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a small team
  • DBS check at enhanced level
