Job Title: Residential Childcare Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team at North Lakes Children's Services. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to young people in our residential care settings.

About the Role:

This is a casual, sessional position that requires flexibility in your availability. You will be working with young people aged 6-18, providing support with daily routines, promoting personal hygiene, and encouraging socialization. You will also be responsible for attending medical appointments, supporting activity planners, and completing daily paperwork.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting young people with daily routines, including getting them up, promoting personal hygiene, and meals
  • Supporting room cleans, developing life skills, and promoting socialization
  • Attending medical appointments and supporting activity planners
  • Completing daily paperwork, including day sheets and handover documents
  • Supporting the development of life skills and independence
Requirements:
  • Flexibility in your availability, including sleep-in nights and shift work
  • Understanding of the issues that face young people in care
  • Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a small team
  • Willingness to undertake a DBS check at enhanced level
