About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Needs Support Assistant to join our team at a school in Durham. As a Special Needs Support Assistant, you will be working in small groups to support learners with special educational needs. This is a primary class where the learners are working at an early years level. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, resilient, and able to pick things up quickly. This is a complex and fast-paced environment, so experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support learners with special educational needs in a primary class setting
  • Work in small groups to provide individualized support
  • Assist with lesson planning and implementation
  • Communicate effectively with teachers and other support staff

Requirements
  • Experience of working with students with Autism or other additional needs
  • A passion for education and helping people
  • A nurturing and engaging personality
