We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at HMP Woodhill. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in assessing and managing the mental health needs of prisoners, providing appropriate interventions and facilitating referrals.

Working closely with other departments, you will ensure that all risks are assessed and managed, and that planned care is individual and appropriate to the needs of the patient. You will also be responsible for providing effective case management to a defined caseload, in accordance with the Care Programme Approach, in conjunction with the team, appropriate prison departments and external health, social care and probation services.

Key Responsibilities
  • To assess and manage the mental health needs of prisoners, providing appropriate interventions and facilitating referrals.
  • To work closely with other departments to ensure that all risks are assessed and managed.
  • To provide effective case management to a defined caseload, in accordance with the Care Programme Approach.
  • To ensure effective pre-release care planning.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (RMN)
  • Evidence of professional development since registration
  • Post registration qualification that enhances clinical work: CBT, DBT, Dual Diagnosis, etc.
Salary and Benefits

Salary: £35,392 to £42,618 per annum including HCAS (pro rata if part-time)
