Protocol Education is seeking a passionate and creative individual to join our team as a Creative Classroom Assistant in a special needs school in Newcastle. As a key member of our SEN department, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, adapting teaching methods to meet their unique needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of creative and engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Support the class teacher in managing the classroom, preparing materials, and ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
  • Help students develop social skills and emotional resilience, providing encouragement and positive reinforcement.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other staff members to create and maintain individualized education plans (IEPs) and track student progress.
  • Foster strong relationships with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about their child's progress and any concerns.

About the Role:

  • This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 3:30.
  • Engage students through dynamic activities like music, art, P.E., and cooking.
  • Provide personalized support, focusing on elevating students' communication and hand-eye coordination.
  • Assist with sensory integration in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with teachers to assess students' levels and abilities.
  • Ensure faithful implementation of the school's principles and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
