Adult Social Care Lawyer Role

Sellick Partnership is proud to be assisting Barnsley Council in their search for an experienced Adult Social Care Lawyer to join their growing legal team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide legal advice and support across a broad range of areas, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Health and Social Care Act 2008, and Mental Health Act 1983. They will also be responsible for making applications to the Court of Protection and High Court, as well as providing detailed advice on the Council's responsibilities under various regulations and statutory guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing legal advice and support on adult social care policy and procedures
  • Making applications to the Court of Protection and High Court
  • Providing detailed advice on the Council's responsibilities under various regulations and statutory guidance
  • Advising Service Managers and Directors on adult social care policy and procedures
Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive
  • Experience of Court of Protection or Mental Health Act advice is beneficial, but training and support can be given to develop within the role
