About the Role

Maidstone Borough Council is seeking an experienced and versatile manager to lead the development and management of its parks and open spaces. The successful candidate will have a strong background in horticulture, ecology, and landscape management, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality services and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies for the management and maintenance of parks and open spaces
  • Lead a team of grounds maintenance staff and work closely with the parks management team
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local communities, businesses, and other council departments
  • Manage budgets and resources to deliver high-quality services and projects
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the management of parks and open spaces

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual who is passionate about green spaces and landscape management. You will have a degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, such as horticulture, landscape management, or landscape conservation. You will also have extensive experience of green space and landscape management, including practical experience of horticulture and landscape techniques.
