Foundry Metallurgist

We are seeking an experienced Metallurgist/Engineering Manager to join our team at GREEN FOLK LIMITED. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sand foundry processes, particularly precision sand casting using 3-part resin systems and cold box core making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor sand properties to maintain production of high-quality castings.
• Understand and apply Foundry Methoding principles to light alloy castings.
• Interpret data from material testing results and inspection data to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Apply special processes relevant to light alloy casting manufacture, including weld repair, heat treatment, chemical processing, dye penetrant inspection, and radiography.
• Conduct metallurgical investigations and material analysis using optical emission spectrometers.
• Interpret customer requirements and convert them into operating instructions, inspection plans, and production methods.

Requirements:

• Minimum degree-level qualification in Metallurgy/Materials Science.
• Experience in sand foundry processes, particularly precision sand casting.
• Strong understanding of Foundry Methoding principles.
• Ability to interpret data and implement corrective actions.
• Knowledge of special processes relevant to light alloy casting manufacture.
