Job Description:
As a Senior Process Engineer, you will lead the delivery and coordination of technically complex process engineering design within proposals, studies, and projects. You will work as part of a study and/or project team, ensuring design & engineering standards & procedures are met, while maintaining a focus on quality, targets, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse project specifications, tender, and proposals requirements.
- Evaluate and select technologies, and conduct economic assessments.
- Conduct process configuration and optimization studies.
- Develop design parameters and methodologies.
- Prepare technically correct, safe, environmentally friendly, cost & time effective discipline engineering analysis and solutions for approval.
- Design basis and philosophy documents.
- Process description, process modelling and simulation, PFD's and heat & material balance, MSD and material selection philosophy, Process and Utility P&ID's.
- Sizing and specification of equipment, including distillation tower design and tray sizing.
- Utilities and chemicals consumption summaries, simulations and calculations.
- Support all project activities, from engineering to start-up, as required.
- Participate in safety, environmental and operability reviews.
- Interface with other process engineering disciplines and design teams.
- Assist in development of a process knowledge database.
Requirements:
- BSc or MSc in Chemical Engineering with a wide-ranging background in Gas/Liquids Cracking Technology.
- Theoretical understanding of process design methods & tools.
- Considerable knowledge in Oil & Gas Processing, Refining and/or Ethylene/Petrochemicals, preferably with an engineering contractor.
- Experience of leading teams of 3-5 Process Engineers.
- Technology Awareness of Ethylene, Petrochemicals, Refining, Offsites & Utilities.
- Engineering Work Processes Inter-discipline coordination, change management.
- Knowledge of Industry Codes and Standards (API, ASTM, ASME etc).
Process Simulation: Hysys, PRO/II, PROMAX, Flarenet, Flaresim.
Engineering Work Processes: Interdisciplinary coordination, change management.
Industry Codes and Standards: Knowledge of API 520, 521, 526, 527, 2000, etc.
Leadership: Manages team of process engineers.
Project Reporting: Progress and schedule reporting.
