Job Description:

As a Senior Process Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering and coordinating technically complex process engineering design within proposals, studies, and projects. You will work as part of a study and/or project team, ensuring design and engineering standards, schedules, and budget are met, with a continuous concern for quality standards, targets, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse project specifications, tender, and proposals requirements.
  • Evaluate and select technologies, and conduct economic assessments.
  • Conduct process configuration and optimization studies.
  • Contribute to the development of design parameters and methodologies.
  • Prepare technically correct, safe, environmentally friendly, cost-effective, and timely discipline engineering analysis and solutions for approval.
  • Design basis and philosophy documents, including safeguarding, shutdown, relief, and blowdown, isolation.
  • Process description, process modelling, and simulation.
  • PFDs and heat and material balance.
  • MSD and material selection philosophy.
  • Process and utility P&IDs, including selection of design conditions, hydraulic analysis, line sizing, and pipe specifications, equipment isolation, vent, and drain systems, cause, and effects.
  • Sizing and specification of equipment, including knowledge of distillation tower design and tray sizing.
  • Sizing and specification of in-line instrumentation.
  • Utilities and chemicals consumption summaries.
  • Simulations and calculations.
  • Provide support to all project activities, from engineering to start-up, as required.
  • Participate as discipline lead or area lead in safety, environmental, and operability reviews (HAZOP, HAZID, ENVID, SIL).
  • Interface with other process engineering disciplines and design teams.
  • Assist in the development of a process knowledge database for studies, projects, and/or operations.

Requirements:

  • BSc or MSc in Chemical Engineering with a wide-ranging background in Gas/Liquids Cracking Technology.
  • Theoretical understanding of process design methods and tools.
  • Considerable knowledge in Oil and Gas Processing, Refining, and/or Ethylene/Petrochemicals, preferably with an engineering contractor.
  • Experience of leading teams of 3-5 Process Engineers.
  • Technology awareness of Ethylene, Petrochemicals, Refining, Offsites, and Utilities.
  • Engineering work processes, inter-discipline coordination, and change management.
  • Knowledge of Industry Codes and Standards (API, ASTM, ASME, etc.).

Skills:

  • Process simulation: Hysys, PRO/II, PROMAX, Flarenet, Flaresim.
  • Engineering work processes: Interdisciplinary coordination, change management.
  • Industry Codes and Standards: Knowledge of API 520, 521, 526, 527, 2000, etc.
  • Leadership: Manages team of process engineers.
  • Project reporting: Progress and schedule reporting.
