Clinical Lead Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Lead to join our team at Tanworth Court, a brand new purpose-built 60-bed dual-registered nursing and residential home. As a Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of nursing staff to ensure the delivery of an excellent standard of care, promoting independence, dignity, and respect for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the nursing services in liaison with the Care Home Manager.
  2. Take a leadership role for your team, ensuring staff skills are managed, supervised appropriately, and rotas are in place for the smooth running of the business.
  3. Promote, role model, and maintain a high standard of nursing care, including the home environment.
  4. Ensure effective induction of new nursing staff, provide ongoing clinical supervision, and mentorship as required.
  5. Work within the NMC Code and CQC standards, alongside Prime Life internal policies and procedures, to ensure legal compliance and best practice guidance.
  6. Plan, direct, and deliver high-quality person-centered care through the care planning process, championing independence and personal choice.
  7. Oversee all aspects of medicine management, ensuring medicines are appropriately received, stored, and administered.
  8. Monitor the quality of nursing care provided through effective auditing and corrective action as required.
  9. Undertake staff reviews through supervision, annual appraisal, and team meetings.
  10. Evaluate the performance of the nursing team, ensuring duties are performed effectively, and attitudes and behaviors reflect the values of Prime Life and the NMC Code.
  11. Be up to date on and follow relevant procedures contained within Prime Life policy files that affect your job and responsibilities.
  12. Take an active role in training the team of nurses, working with the Prime Life Workforce Development team to ensure staff are kept up to date with current practices and good practice developments.
  13. Deputise for the Care Home Manager and take responsibility for the management of the building in their absence if requested.
  14. Ensure provision of emergency treatment for all clients when required by the nursing team.
