EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high-speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. We're seeking a skilled Land Surveyor to join our team in the North Chilterns Area.
As a key member of our survey team, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the site survey control network, reporting and validating different construction stages. You will undertake land/topographic/hydrographic/measured building surveys, using a variety of specialist equipment and technology, such as robotics and 3D scanners.
Your analytical skills will be essential in analyzing data using plans, maps, charts and software such as AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center and GIS (geographic information systems) programs. You will prepare survey drawings with the Senior Land Surveyor, present data to clients and write reports.
You will coordinate with the Site Engineers for the priority of the project regarding implementation, changes of plans or deviations, unusual activities or non-conformances rectification work and coordinate with the consultant for Inspection & Approval. Setting out and as-built surveys, carrying out Topographical and Engineering Surveys (Laser Scanner) and managing the registration and post processing of Point Cloud Data are also key responsibilities.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of survey principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, so the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential.
About You- HND/degree in Land Survey, or Geomatics, or equivalent.
- Experience within a similar role and with similar values.
- Experience in preparing survey-related Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
- Expert knowledge of Trimble total stations, levels and GNSS receivers.
- Excellent AutoCAD skills to produce 2D and 3D drawings.
- Good communication (both written and verbal) skills. Solid report writing and compilation skills.
- Proficient in using survey software like Trimble Business Center.
- Full UK driving License is required.
- CSCS Card either Black, Gold, White, White/Yellow, Red Experienced.
