We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Turbine Island Business Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing Turbine Island components, working closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality designs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and check design documents with senior engineers to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality management.
- Assist in design development activities, including optioneering studies and integration of Turbine Island design into wider power plant infrastructure.
- Apply Systems Engineering principles to ensure efficient and effective design solutions.
- Engage with stakeholders and attend design reviews to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality management.
- Minimum 2:1 BEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Relevant senior engineering experience in sectors like offshore, renewables, nuclear, or other highly regulated industries.
- Solid background in mechanical and structural engineering.
- Proficient with CAD software, including Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and/or Catia.
- Strong mathematical skills, including experience with MathCAD software.
- Skilled in producing technical reports and creating design and substantiation reports, assembly procedures, etc.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including welding and machining.
- Experienced with the engineering design cycle from Concept to Manufacture.
- Familiar with European and Offshore standards, including Eurocode 3 and DNV.
- Master's degree is a plus.
- Skilled in checking and approving engineering CAD assemblies and drawings.
- Proficient in verifying engineering documentation, including manual calculations and reports.
- Excellent Finite Element Analysis skills, including in-depth knowledge of ANSYS Workbench.
- Experienced in non-linear and fatigue FEA, including familiarity with DNV and Eurocodes.
