**Job Title:** R&D Tax Consultant

We are seeking an experienced R&D Tax Consultant to join our growing team in London. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in helping innovative businesses claim tax relief for their research and development activities.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of HMRC R&D tax credit schemes and be able to provide proactive advice to clients. You will be responsible for collaborating with clients to identify eligible R&D projects and expenditures, preparing and reviewing technical reports to support R&D tax relief claims, and staying up-to-date on R&D tax credit legislation and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Advisory: Collaborate with clients to identify eligible R&D projects and expenditures.
  • Technical Reporting: Prepare and review technical reports to support R&D tax relief claims, ensuring compliance with HMRC guidelines.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with finance teams, technical specialists, and project managers to gather and assess relevant information.
  • Legislation Expertise: Stay updated on R&D tax credit legislation and industry best practices, providing proactive advice to clients.
  • Team Collaboration: Support junior team members and contribute to the development of internal processes.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • A strong analytical mindset, with the ability to understand technical projects and translate them into clear and compliant claims.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in client-facing roles.
  • A background in accountancy, tax, or a STEM discipline (e.g., ACA, CTA, or equivalent).
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
