Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Apprentice Production Engineer to join our team at Teledyne e2v in Chelmsford. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for developing high precision silicon assembly and providing onward support to manufacture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Production Engineers to ensure DFM (design for manufacture) is optimized
  • Assist with development and writing procedures for the prototyping of new products
  • Continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes and work instructions, working with the wider production/manufacturing team
  • Generation of SAP ME routings from the manufacturing flow diagrams
  • Ensure all documentation is confirmed through Configuration Control Boards (CCBs)
  • Manage and optimize operations flow (information and production flow)
  • Assist with production trials and ensure all relevant documentation is completed
  • Work to existing NPI processes

Requirements:

  • Experience of Production/Manufacturing
  • Experience of developing manufacturing processes
  • Experience of working in a project manufacturing environment
  • Excellent problem solving skills, with documented results
  • The ability to work effectively in a team
  • Self-motivation
  • Attention to detail
  • HNC in Engineering or Physics or equivalent experience
