Job Overview

ABM Facility Services UK is seeking a reliable and motivated Cleaning/Waste Operative to join our team at Amazon NCL2. As a key member of our janitorial and waste removal team, you will be responsible for providing a high standard of cleaning services to our clients.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Work effectively and efficiently within our team to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  2. Provide janitorial services to internal and external areas, including welfare spaces, social areas, and production areas.
  3. Handle waste generated on site via approved waste streams and ensure it is ready for transportation.
  4. Operate cleaning equipment, including walk-behind and ride-on sweepers and scrubber-dryers, and maintain them in a safe working order.
  5. Respond promptly to spillages and callouts from the client's on-site team.
  6. Communicate effectively with your team and line manager to ensure a smooth operation.
  7. Wear protective clothing (PPE) and comply with Health & Safety legislation and policies.

Person Specification:

  1. Satisfactory response from Disclosure Board at a basic level and knowledge of health and safety requirements or a willingness to learn.
  2. Knowledge of cleaning methods or a willingness to learn.
  3. High attention to detail.
  4. Ability to work under pressure.
  5. Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  6. Ability to quickly adapt to a busy operational environment.
  7. Reliable and flexible approach to work.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  9. This is an active role that requires you to be physically fit.

Essential:

  1. Willingness to participate in the company's screening process, including completing a basic DBS check and submitting to random drug and alcohol testing.

Desirable:

  1. First Aid at Work certificate.
