Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the Transformation Unit. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for leading the Pharmacy Stores and Distribution Service on all three hospital sites.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Coordinating and supervising the pharmacy service from stores and distribution areas to all users.
  2. Managing the storage and distribution of medicines to ensure accurate and timely supply services to internal and external customers.
  3. Providing day-to-day supervision of store supervisors, storekeepers, apprentices, and distribution staff within Pharmacy Stores and Pharmacy Distribution.
  4. Developing effective means of managing all drugs stocked throughout pharmacy locations, maintaining stock levels, and receiving and distributing medical supplies.
  5. Training and assessing the competency of store supervisors, storekeepers, apprentices, and distribution staff.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Level 3 qualification for pharmacy technicians or equivalent.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • COSHH training.
  • Significant and extensive experience as a Pharmacy Technician, including staff management and workload planning.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy stock management processes and hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
