Job Summary

NHSE WT&E manages the education, training, and development of NHS clinical professionals, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, doctors, and dentists.

This role supports foundation pharmacist training across each Integrated Care System (ICS) in the Midlands, working with the Pharmacy Education team.

Main Duties

You will be responsible for providing professional leadership, expertise, advice, and support to:

  • Design, create, and deliver teaching, learning, and assessment plans to support foundation pharmacy trainees and their educational supervisors.
  • Be an active key member of the foundation school, contributing to the design and development of pharmacy education programmes and linking to the multi-professional school with shared common resources.
  • Support business planning processes to provide input into the strategic development of the work of the department.
  • Identify and support pharmacy trainees requiring additional support.
  • Contribute to the availability of high-quality training and support for pharmacy practice and educational supervisors.
  • Provide professional expertise on a specific portfolio of work.
  • Manage the provision and development of resources, services, and opportunities for pharmacists and their educators from across the healthcare professions.
  • Support equality, diversity, and inclusion initiatives in pharmacy education.
  • Have an understanding and awareness of how the activities and objectives of the department align with the wider business planning for NHSE.
  • Support workforce planning and workforce challenges for the ICS and across the wider region.
