About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Senior Social Worker to join our Response Team within the Front Door of South Gloucestershire Council's Children's Social Care and Preventative Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing and managing risk where there is possible or actual significant harm to children, ensuring they are kept safe and protected from abuse.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake statutory assessments of cases meeting the threshold for social care intervention, including child protection investigations.
  • Work collaboratively with children, young people, and families to meet their goals and aspirations.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve outcomes for children, young people, and families.
  • Contribute to the development of a strong culture of innovation and creativity within the team.

Requirements

  • Qualified social worker with relevant registration to practice.
  • Good understanding of asset and strengths-based approaches to social work.
  • Successful completion of ASYE (if applicable).
  • Ability to assess and manage risk for the most vulnerable children in the community.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
