About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Early Years Chef to join our team at Bright Horizons Fleet Day Nursery and Preschool. As a key member of our nursery team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting healthy, nutritious meals for our children, ensuring their dietary needs are met and promoting a positive eating culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals for children, adhering to food safety guidelines and minimizing waste
  • Manage kitchen inventory, ordering supplies and maintaining a clean and safe environment
  • Lead cookery club sessions, inspiring children to develop healthy eating habits and culinary skills
  • Collaborate with the nursery team to promote a positive and inclusive environment
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company policies
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or similar environment
  • Passion for nutrition and inspiring healthy eating habits in children
  • Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) certification
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high level of professionalism
