Job Title: Cyber Security Engineer

Location: Frimley, Bristol, Weymouth, Portsmouth, Barrow or Brough

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and integrating secure systems and products for the Royal Naval fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement risk-based cyber security requirements for systems and products
  • Conduct cyber security analysis, threat taxonomy development, security architecture, and risk mitigation
  • Design and implement test plans and schedules, conducting informal and formal cyber security testing
  • Support engineering gated reviews and design assurance activities
  • Produce security artefacts, including risk registers, security assurance cases, plans, and schedules

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant STEM subject or Information Security
  • Recognised industry security qualifications, e.g. CCP, CISSP, CISM
  • Proven experience in assessing and managing risk in line with industry good practice (NIST, ISO)
  • Significant experience with security baselines, mitigations, and controls
  • Engineering background and/or strong familiarity with a life cycle phased approach

Desirable:

  • Experience of product security activities in the defence, maritime, or closely linked domain
  • Experience of MOD policies and regulations, such as SPF, JSP 440, and JSP604
  • Knowledge of the challenges affecting security of Operational Technologies/Industrial Control Systems and approaches to secure them
  • Project management exposure
